Part‑Time Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper (30 Hours per Week)

Schedule:

15-20 hours minimum; ideally 30 hours across 3-5 days per week

About the Role

We are seeking a dependable, well‑rounded Staff‑Level Bookkeeper to support a small, collaborative accounting and operations team. This role is ideal for someone with 7-10 years of experience who wants meaningful part‑time work with the ability to grow as responsibilities evolve. The position will take on duties transitioning from a departing team member and will work closely with the department lead.

Key Responsibilities
- Accounting & Bookkeeping

+ Process accounts payable, including coding, entering, and reconciling invoices.

+ Support accounts receivable, including invoicing, receivables tracking, and light collections.

+ Assist with general ledger tasks, reconciliations, and month‑end close support.

+ Maintain accurate financial records and documentation across multiple accounts.

Payroll & HR Support

+ Serve as backup for payroll processing.

+ Assist with HR‑related tasks such as onboarding paperwork, employee file maintenance, and benefits coordination.

Administrative & Department Support

+ Provide day‑to‑day support to the accounting lead as responsibilities shift.

+ Assist with reporting, documentation, and cross‑functional tasks as needed.

+ Contribute to a collaborative team environment where ideas are shared and processes are continuously improved.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

+ 7-10 years of bookkeeping or staff‑level accounting experience.

+ Strong attention to detail and ability to manage a wide range of responsibilities.

+ Comfortable working independently while contributing to a supportive, team‑oriented department.

+ Ability to learn new systems and adapt as the role evolves.

+ Strong communication skills and a willingness to collaborate.
