Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate processing, reconciliation, and reporting of cash receipts across the organization.
• Manage electronic funds transfer (EFT) payments, lockbox deposits, and other incoming receipts.
• Actively monitor payment activity, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues.
• Maintain the integrity of the organization's cash activity by reconciling receipts to bank transactions.
• Support month-end and year-end reconciliation processes.
• Assist with key banking functions and provide support for general ledger activities.

• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or 2–4 years of accounting experience.
• Experience in accounts receivable, cash management, bank reconciliations, or general accounting.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• High degree of professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality.
• Ability to pass a Minnesota Department of Human Services background study.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• Experience supporting general ledger activities and month-end close processes preferred.

Demonstrates expertise in cash management, bank reconciliations, and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance. Strong analytical and organizational skills support effective problem-solving and independent management of multiple priorities.
