The Minnetonka Public School District Community Education / Explorers Site Supervisor is responsible for leading and supervising a comprehensive school-age child care program at the elementary school site. This role ensures the delivery of a high-quality, enriching, and safe program that supports children’s growth, development, and well‑being.
Your Role Will Include:- Develop, implement, and oversee an engaging and enriching school‑age child care program.
- Plan and lead daily activities while effectively managing program spaces.
- Supervise students and provide guidance that supports positive behavior and development.
- Train, supervise, and support Explorers staff and volunteers.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with school and district personnel, including custodial, clerical, and nutrition services staff.
- Lead staff and students during non‑school day programming and field trips, ensuring safety at all times.
- Ensure compliance with all program regulations and complete required site documentation and paperwork accurately and timely.
- Support after‑school enrichment and recreation classes.
- Maintain oversight of the student tracking system and ensure a safe, caring, and fun environment for all participants.
- Build strong, positive relationships with parents and maintain clear, consistent communication.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS), Associate’s degree (AA), or two years of college coursework in a related field, plus at least 18 months of experience in school‑age care.
- Demonstrated successful experience in a childcare or educational setting.
- Proven experience in program leadership.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Completion of CCAP-required training prior to the first day of employment.
- Commitment to completing required annual staff development hours.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong record of punctuality and responsibility.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with children, families, coworkers, supervisors, and the general public.
- $26.92 per hour, plus a split shift differential during the school year.
- Eligible for medical and dental benefits.
- Scenic Heights Elementary.
- Full‑time position working 40 hours per week, 12 months per year.
- School year, split shift, typically 6:30–9:30 a.m. and 1:00–6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- Summer, straight shift scheduled between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
