• Survey the swimming pool when the students are in the pool area for their PE class.
• Keep a constant eye on the water.
• Blow a whistle if there is ever a student at risk or in danger.
• Observe and guide student behavior in the swimming pool to ensure compliance with school rules and student safety.
• Report any areas of concern regarding student behavior to the teacher or building principal.
• Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.

• Evidence of excellent judgment in crisis situations.
• Evidence of self-motivation.
• Evidence of punctuality and reliability.
• Evidence of understanding and knowledge of school rules.
• Evidence of ability to work with middle school age children.
• Evidence of ability to respect, protect and maintain confidentiality.
