Position Type:

Locations to be determined – will be working in more than one site.

- Provide direct student instruction and team teaching of the essential learnings in the areas of literacy, inquiry, and technology.
- Develop and implement authentic lessons integrating the Minnetonka Information Literacy Standards, 21st Century Skills, and technology into the curriculum.
- Evaluate, select, circulate, and maintain print, technology, and innovative resources that enhance curriculum, instruction and assessment.
- Provide technology leadership for the building, serving as the chair of the site tech committee, developing and implementing the site technology goals and plan, and coordinate with District resources and staff.
- Provide job embedded staff development to teachers to support the integration of technology as it relates to curriculum, instruction, assessment and new technology initiatives.
- Instruct and supervise site media staff.
- Have an in-depth expertise of a wide variety of District-wide programs (see list following).
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
- Provide instruction in the following areas of Digital Citizenship, Media Literacy/Literature Appreciation, Technology Operations and Concepts, and Research/Information Literacy.
- Collaborative work in a fast-paced environment interacting with students, staff, administrators, parents, and the community with multiple requests and concerns.
- Support and communicate with administrators and staff.
- Operates flexibly and responds positively to unexpected challenges.
- Create and maintain a positive, customer service oriented environment for students, staff, and community.
- Manages the physical library space, keeping it organized and ready for all patrons.
- Coordinate the work and provide input to the goal-setting process for paraprofessionals.
- Promote a lifelong love of reading, learning and an appreciation of fiction and nonfiction, literature and other creative expressions of information.
- Help students obtain a sound understanding of technology concepts, systems, and operations.
- Develop students' use critical thinking skills to plan and conduct research, manage projects, solve problems, and make informed decisions using appropriate digital tools and resources.
- Research new technologies to enhance instruction.
- Thorough knowledge and management of online Destiny circulation system and understanding of MARC records.
- Manage the circulation and distribution of information resources, curriculum materials, and equipment.
- Promote resource sharing within the district and beyond. Obtain resources and information through interlibrary loan, information networks and other sources.
- Lead and/or contribute to site committees.
- Demonstrate fluency in latest hardware, software, and innovative technologies and encourages site adoption and implementation of best practices.
- Coordinate Site Visits for building.
- Provide ongoing training and support of new and existing initiatives and technologies.
- Create clear, concise, and visually appealing manuals, handouts, online resources, email tech tips, and more.
- Collaborate on and/or oversee scheduling and preparation of technology tools for District and building level assessments.
- Teach students, parents, and staff to practice safe, legal, and responsible use of information and technology (cyber safety, copyright).
