Provides students with intervention opportunities in reading, math, and writing; works with students to provide assistance and support ; monitors student progress.

• Works with students individually or in small groups in and out of regular classrooms under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
• Reinforces the instructional plan laid out by the classroom teacher.
• Provides instructional assistance and motivate students in the areas of math, reading, and language.
• Plans and prepares study aids such as flash cards and worksheets.
• Assists teacher with classroom activities; leads breakout sessions.
• Manages student behavior in small groups in order to create a safe, positive learning environment.
• Monitors and reports progress of individual students to teachers.
• Other duties or tasks may be assigned on an as-needed basis.
• Promotes and support s the overall mission of the District by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with public and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Two (2) years post-secondary education OR a passing Para Pro Score.
• One (1) year of curriculum support experience.
• OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation.

• Methods and techniques to assist students in reading, writing and mathematics.

• Correct business English, including spelling, grammar and punctuation.
