Civil Engineering, Structural Engineer
This is not a desk-only engineering role, and it’s not new-construction design.
This Civil Engineer role is ideal for a curious, hands-on civil engineer who enjoys investigating how buildings work, why they fail, and how to fix them. You’ll split your time between the field and the office, work on existing buildings, and gain exposure to forensic engineering, restoration design, and expert-level problem solving. No forensic background required. Everything is taught on the job.
Why This Role?
- Hybrid / Remote Flexibility – In-office collaboration required just one day per week!
- 50% field / 50% office – You’re not stuck behind a computer
- No set hours – Work when you’re most productive (early mornings, evenings, nights, flexible days)
- Join a company with zero layoffs- ever
- Performance measured by results, not hours worked
- Mentorship from nationally recognized experts
- Strong, stable firm with decades of success
What You’ll Work On:
You’ll support a wide range of existing building investigations and restoration projects, including:
- Building envelope failures (curtain walls, roofs, facades)
- Structural issues (foundations, framing, deterioration)
- Construction quality and performance evaluations
- Repair and restoration design
- Construction observation and commissioning
- Forensic engineering investigations
- Conduct on-site evaluations of building and envelope conditions
- Analyze failures and determine root causes
- Design practical, buildable repair solutions
- Write clear, professional engineering reports
- Observe construction and restoration work in progress
Projects span private and public sector buildings, and you’ll regularly collaborate with owners, attorneys, contractors, and design teams.
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 2–5 years of experience related to buildings
- PE, EIT, or ability to sit for the FE exam soon
- Interest in problem solving, investigation, and real-world engineering
- Experience with existing buildings, construction, or building envelopes
- New-construction experience is perfectly acceptable
This role offers a competitive six figure base salary, along with performance-based bonuses and flexible medical and dental options. All licensing, exams, and continuing education are fully paid, and the position provides true schedule flexibility, long-term stability, and a clear path for career growth.
The environment combines professional development such as Lunch & Learn sessions and hands-on forensic training, with a close-knit team atmosphere that includes social events, annual traditions, and a small-team setting where your contributions are visible, valued, and rewarded, including an immediate raise upon earning your PE.
