Assistant Project Manager

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Civil Project Manager to join our Land Development Civil Engineering team. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.

• Utilize good time management methods to meet schedule requirements.
• Apply organizational skills to deliver projects efficiently and thoroughly.
• Use current computer aided design and production software to maximize efficiency of project delivery.
• Proactively contribute to the professional development of assigned personnel.
• Create and maintain a positive environment and team approach for all assignments.

• Effectively utilize and implement the Company s QA/QC Policy.
• Review project contracts and coordinate with the Principal in Charge for execution.
• Manage and design numerous civil engineering projects of medium to high complexity.
• Perform all project billing, collections and job cost analysis to maximize project profitability while maintaining quality of deliverables.
• Begin to assume a role in marketing of existing clients.
• Perform manpower projections and staffing management for multiple tasks or projects.
• Maintain multiple project deadline schedules for allocation of resources.
• Maintain effective communications with multiple design teams, other design consultants, Internal Survey Department (re: schedules, deliverables and billings) and other appropriate parties, both verbal and written.
• Serve as a technical expert in a defined area.
• Assign and oversee project assignments; review work for accuracy and completeness; promote professional development; maintain job satisfaction and morale; assist with performance evaluations; and recommend compensation adjustments and/or promotions.

• Demonstrates competence in fundamental civil engineering design principles with a designated area of practice; cost estimating; bid phase assistance; construction administration and general construction methods.
• Demonstrates proficiency with current computer aided design and production software and ability to learn new versions or new technology.

• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Land Development Civil Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer by the Texas State Board of Professional Engineers or ability to obtain one within 6-12 months.
• Graduate from an accredited university or college with a Bachelor s Degree in Civil Engineering (Experience or degrees in other disciplines may be substituted at Management s discretion).
