City Engineer - Oakdale

Overview

The City of Oakdale is excited to announce the opening of a City Engineer position. This complex position will work closely with colleague departments to ensure coordination of engineering functions throughout the City's operations. Under limited supervision, this position leads the city’s engineering responsibilities for environmental, water, sewer, stormwater, street, right-of-way lighting, trails, open space restoration and other public works projects and programs both in field and in office.

This position ensures technical competence and compliance with all codes and criteria; and serves as a project manager. This position will be part of our Public Works department, which also includes streets, forestry, utilities, recreation, and parks maintenance. For more information:

• Lead the city’s engineering responsibilities for environmental, water, sewer, stormwater, street, right-of-way lighting, trails, open space restoration and other public works projects and programs.
• Coordinate engineering functions across City departments; ensure technical competence and compliance with codes and criteria.
• Act as project manager for assigned public works projects and programs, in both field and office settings.
• Collaborate with Public Works department, which includes streets, forestry, utilities, recreation, and parks maintenance.
