Land Surveyor

Job Overview

Position:
Land Surveyor – Geospatial Data Services Team.

• Assist with field surveys across multiple project types, including boundary, topographic, and construction surveys.
• Support data reduction, digital terrain modeling, and surface creation.
• Prepare right‑of‑way plats, certified survey maps, boundary surveys, and other survey‑related documents.
• Assist with drafting and survey computations.
• Collaborate with project teams while maintaining the ability to work independently in the field.
• Travel as needed to support project demands.
• Candidate may reside in St. Paul, MN.

• Willingness and ability to work overtime as project schedules require.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Ability to walk and climb over rough terrain and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work outdoors for 8–12 hours in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to travel for projects, meetings, and overnight stays as needed.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with basic surveying procedures, including:
  • Boundary and land surveys.
  • Topographic surveys.
  • Construction staking methods using Total Stations and GPS.
• Experience with drafting, survey computations, and interpreting plans and easement descriptions.
• Field experience using Trimble survey equipment.
• Working knowledge of:
  • AutoCAD.
  • Trimble Business Center.
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).

• Valid driver’s license and MVR records check meeting SEH’s Driving Program requirements.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.

• Candidate required to travel as needed; open to candidates residing in St. Paul, MN.
• Unable to hire employees residing in the following states at this time: AK, AR, CA, CT, DE, HI, KY, MA, RI, VT, and PR.

Base compensation expected to be in the range of $72,000 to $100,000 based on skill set and experience.
