Sr Manufacturing Engineer

Actalent is hiring for a Sr Manufacturing Engineer in the Minnetonka Area.

Location:

Minnetonka, MN

Schedule:

Monday – Thursday, 4:45 AM – 3:15 PM

FLSA Status:
Non-Exempt (Overtime eligible)

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support a new product launch within a dynamic production environment. This role partners closely with operations, technicians, and assemblers to troubleshoot issues, improve processes, and ensure successful production ramp-up.

You will play a key role in optimizing manufacturing performance by enhancing safety, quality, delivery, and cost, while working with advanced products and technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a front-line Manufacturing Engineer supporting operations in a cleanroom environment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment, safety, quality, and process issues in real time
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) activities, including process development and production ramp
  • Design and improve manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures to enhance productivity and product quality
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, including cost reduction and yield improvement efforts
  • Train and guide production personnel on assembly, testing procedures, and best practices
  • Analyze test data, evaluate product performance, and drive process improvements
  • Conduct scrap analysis and root cause investigations
  • Communicate production updates, issues, and improvements across shifts and cross-functional teams
  • Recommend and implement changes to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance
Core Responsibilities & Expectations
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities
  • Lead complex engineering tasks involving cross-functional coordination
  • Identify risks and issues proactively, assess impact, and implement compliant solutions
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality teams to validate and improve processes
  • Participate in peer and leadership reviews to validate technical approaches and solutions
  • Ensure alignment with quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain strong communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production environment

  • Ability to lead initiatives and drive process improvements
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies

Work Environment

This role operates in a cleanroom manufacturing environment and requires close collaboration with operations, engineering, and quality teams.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Minnetonka, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $67.00/hr.
