Position Overview

Seeking an R&D Engineer contractor with 1-3 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree.

Preferred degrees
  • o Mechanical Engineering
  • o Biomedical Engineering
  • Electrical and Software Engineering backgrounds may also be considered if the candidate is a strong fit.

Role is primarily focused on Process Development, despite the R&D Engineer title.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process validations:
  • o IQ (Installation Qualification)
  • o OQ (Operational Qualification)
  • o PQ (Performance Qualification)
  • Equipment design and development.
  • Technical writing:
  • o Manufacturing Procedures (MPs)
  • o Technical reports
  • o SOP documentation
  • Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Process characterization and data analysis.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with:
  • o R&D
  • o Quality Engineering (QE)
  • o Manufacturing Engineering (ME)
  • o Operations
Required/Preferred Technical Skills
  • CAD software experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong technical writing/documentation skills.
  • Statistical analysis experience preferred:
  • o Minitab experience is a plus.
  • o Academic exposure to statistical tools is acceptable.
  • Medical device industry experience preferred, including internships.
  • Quality management/documentation systems experience (Track Wise, electronic lab notebooks, Master Control, etc.) is not required.
Product/Industry Focus

Work will be focused on catheter delivery systems.

Processes involve
  • o Assembly operations
  • o UV curing
  • o Mechanical assembly processes
Candidate Profile
  • Open to:
  • o Recent graduates with internship experience.
  • o Candidates with master's degrees if within max bill rate.
  • R&D and Product Development backgrounds are welcomed but not required.

  • o Take initiative

  • o Support a variety of tasks
  • o Work with minimal direction after training

Work Schedule & Location

Onsite 5 days per week.

Preferred schedule: approximately 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Some flexibility on hours, but consistency is expected.

Candidates willing to relocate to Minnesota are eligible.
