DescriptionCome join our expanding team at Carver County Community Development Agency (CDA)! Carver County CDA is a government agency that provides affordable housing and economic development services in Carver County. We are searching for an Assistant Director of Finance who can help lead a growing finance department. Under the supervisor of the Director of Finance, the Assistant Director of Finance is responsible for the preparation of the property monthly financial statements and general ledger maintenance, in addition to supervising all Accounting Technicians.
This position is an exempt position, and the full pay range is $89,190 - $120,411, depending on experience.

ResponsibilitiesEssential duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Supervise and manage Accounting Technicians
- Prepare monthly financial statements
- Prepare year-end audit schedules and work papers to support balances on financial statements and works with independent auditors as needed.
- Reviews, analyzes, and reconciles all balance sheet and income and expense accounts monthly
- Review and record daily deposits, accounts receivable, and accounts payable batches
- Reconcile monthly bank statements
- Responsible for bond trustee compliance reporting requirements
- Input and maintain annual budget
- Prepares or directs the preparation of 1099's for all account payable vendor paid more than $600
- Recommends change in financial policies and procedure, as necessary
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum requirements for this position:
Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; plus three years’ experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Property Management Accounting experience a plus.
- Ability to work with high degree of accuracy and follow up.
- Ability to analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
- Ability to physically operate personal computers, copiers, facsimile machines, telephones, and other common office machines and equipment.
- Good team player with strong service aptitude, strong work ethics, integrity.
- Experience with computerized accounting systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel;
Access, a plus. - Valid Minnesota Driver’s License, vehicle insurance, and ability to travel to sites or banks.
- Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
