Health Services Specialist II

Description We are looking for a Health Services Specialist II to support health plan operations and provide high-quality service to members, providers, and internal teams in Minnesota. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who combines strong administrative coordination with clear communication and a solid understanding of healthcare processes. This role will help manage authorizations, maintain accurate records, and contribute to efficient service delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

- Respond to inquiries from members, providers, and internal partners with timely, accurate, and attentive service.

- Review authorization-related information, verify required details, and help ensure requests are processed correctly.

- Coordinate documentation, status updates, and follow-up activities to keep work moving efficiently across teams.

- Maintain accurate records within health plan systems and support data quality through careful review of entries and submissions.

- Assist with onboarding or training support by sharing process guidance and answering routine operational questions.

- Use internet-based tools and internal platforms to research information, track cases, and complete assigned tasks.

- Support sourcing, submittal tracking, or related administrative activities as needed by the business team.

- Apply healthcare knowledge and medical terminology to interpret information and route issues appropriately.

- Contribute to quality-focused workflows by identifying discrepancies and escalating concerns when necessary. Requirements - High school diploma required; additional healthcare or administrative training is a plus.

- Experience in customer service, care coordination, or health plan support is preferred.

- Working knowledge of healthcare terminology and authorization processes.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers.

- Proficiency with web-based tools and standard computer systems for documentation and research.

- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

- Familiarity with MMIS or Medicaid Management Information System platforms is a plus.

- Ability to learn procedures quickly, follow established guidelines, and maintain accuracy in detailed work. Talent Match®
