Project Manager/Engineer - Transportation

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Project Manager to join our team. We are expanding services in Wisconsin with offices in Minnetonka (MN), Appleton (WI), and Madison (WI). Our ideal candidate will have 8+ years of diverse roadway design experience, DOT background, and project management expertise.

• Manage the design and delivery of multidiscipline projects profitably.
• Oversee technical aspects of various projects.
• Supervise engineers and technical support personnel.
• Develop project work plans, budget projections, and deploy resources.
• Review and act on business metrics including utilization, backlog, work in process, and account receivables.
• Prepare, maintain, and coordinate schedules of multiple concurrent projects.
• Develop and track milestones to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Complete monthly project accounting and invoicing.
• Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, support services, and subconsultants.
• Coordinate with government agencies, utility providers, or other outside agencies.
• Represent clients and firm in meetings with governmental agencies.
• Write proposals and participate in or lead interviews.
• Grow, mentor, and train staff.
• Build relationships internally and externally with clients and strategic partners.
• Lead business development activities.
• Negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients and governmental entities.
• Ensure division, regional, and company values, policies, and practices are consistently followed.
• Lead by example – display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to manage staff and direct resources effectively.
• Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex transportation design projects profitably.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects under the WisDOT delivery process.
• Extensive knowledge of geometric design and other related design elements.
• Knowledge and experience with the full roadway project lifecycle from preliminary studies through final design.
• Track record of successfully winning and delivering projects.
• Experience developing and implementing marketing pursuit strategies.
• Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with peers, clients, and public agency staff.
• Ability to coach and motivate others.
• Detail-oriented but also flexible enough to be big picture/conceptual.

• BS in Civil Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in WI and/or MN (or capable of obtaining within 6 months).
• 8+ years of progressive experience in transportation design and project management.
