The Manager of Project Management is responsible for leading one or more cross-departmental transformation programs that support Medica's strategic goals, regulatory requirements, new product development, and operational initiatives. This role oversees end-to-end program performance, including timeline adherence, budget management, and delivery quality. The Manager will guide the evaluation and implementation of services, systems, and opportunities that drive business process improvement, innovation, and sustainable value.
Additionally, this role includes hiring and developing a team of program and project managers to ensure successful execution of initiatives with measurable outcomes and value realization. Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Accountabilities
* Partner with business and technology stakeholders to define program scope, milestones, resource capacity, and business outcomes
* Identify and reassess resource requirements regularly, aligning with budget constraints and facilitating hiring as needed
* Participate in Program Increment (PI) Planning, System Demo, and Solution Demo to ensure alignment across Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and business divisions
* Report progress of program MVP to key stakeholders, including steering and portfolio management
* Develop and continuously update critical path and business milestones in collaboration with business and technology teams
* Coordinate and synchronize epic-related activities across entities (e.g., business readiness, communications, process design, technology delivery)
* Ensure transparency and management of dependencies, issues, and risks; facilitate resolution and decision-making
* Support Product Managers, Product Owners, and Business Readiness representatives in managing expectations for deliverables
* Hold teams accountable for deliverables and commitments; serve as an escalation resource and remove obstacles
* Manage program financials, ensuring appropriate expenditures and resolving issues with financial representatives
* Support development of business cases in partnership with business owners and cross-functional teams.
* Lead stakeholder engagement, including internal teams and external vendors
* Organize and motivate cross-functional work teams; manage executive stakeholder communications and facilitate Executive Steering Committees
* Manage and coach a team of program and project managers; provide leadership and remove barriers throughout the project lifecycle
* Conduct performance management and development to ensure excellence in project delivery
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
* 5 years in area of supervision
Preferred Certifications/Licensure
* PMP certification
Preferred Qualifications
* 7 years of experience managing complex cross-departmental programs and teams of project managers
* Experience in the payer industry
* Proficiency in Smartsheet software
* Experience leading strategic and/or transformation programs
* Proven ability to manage program budgets exceeding $5M
* Experience managing multiple project managers and cross-functional teams of 10-50+ people
* End-to-end program management experience, including Agile delivery methodologies
* Experience driving process improvements and operationalizing standards
* Strong executive communication skills and experience creating executive-level reporting and presentations

This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work onsite at our Minnetonka, MN office, on average, 3 days per week.
The full salary grade for this position is $113,400 - $194,400. While the full salary grade is provided, the typical hiring salary range for this role is expected to be between $113,400 - $170,100.
