Position Responsibilities
As a Funding Manager at Channel, you will play a pivotal role in driving our company's growth and success by overseeing all aspects of funding operations within an assigned region/segment. The Funding Manager is responsible for supporting our partners by completing the documentation, review, and funding of both Equipment Finance and Working Capital loans/advances, and is accountable for leading the Funding Team with a focus on key metrics and reporting to assure superior performance across the team.
DescriptionAs a Funding Manager at Channel, you will play a pivotal role in driving our company's growth and success by overseeing all aspects of funding operations within an assigned region/segment. The Funding Manager is responsible for supporting our partners by completing the documentation, review, and funding of both Equipment Finance and Working Capital loans/advances, and is accountable for leading the Funding Team with a focus on key metrics and reporting to assure superior performance across the team.
The position will play a key role in training new and existing staff, supporting projects and initiatives, and monitoring overall team performance to maintain quality and service levels. The position will be a working manager with the expectation of dedicating 10-15% of time to working transactions (directly or indirectly), with the remaining time focused on people management, supporting policy and procedures, reporting and monitoring, and projects and initiatives.
The best candidates will be detail-oriented, comfortable reviewing key provisions of the document with clients prior to funding, team-oriented, and eager to be a part of a rapidly growing business.
- Ensure team compliance with documentation procedures for processing loan, lease, advance, and equipment finance documents. Manage workflow queues and address escalated funding requests from partners.
- Lead all staff within the designated Funding Team; overseeing hiring, training, professional development, conflict resolution, and performance evaluation.
- Monitor service-level agreements and key performance metrics to ensure the team consistently delivers high-quality work, meets turnaround targets, and complies with policies.
- Provide functional expertise across products to support staff, ensure policy and process adherence, and facilitate transaction processing.
- Communicate observations, recommendations, and innovative ideas, and elevate critical issues promptly to the Vice President of Funding.
- Continuously assess and improve existing and new documentation, onboarding, and funding processes.
- Provide functional leadership for key projects and initiatives, including new product development, system and process enhancements, pilot projects, training, and collaboration with IT teams.
- Collaborate with internal staff, cross-functional departments, external partners, and customers.
- Perform additional duties as required, including periodic audits, reporting, and participation in special projects.
- Demonstrated leadership of expanding teams responsible for multiple product lines.
- Proven ability to establish processes, document procedures, and develop training materials to ensure clarity, consistency, and repeatability of outcomes.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving and innovation skills, with a balanced approach to risk management.
- Active contributor to the CPC Management team, supporting organizational objectives and overall company success.
- Experience in interviewing, hiring, training, and managing staff to achieve optimal performance.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with advanced organizational and time‑management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, perform effectively under pressure, and adapt readily to changing environments.
- Consistently maintains a positive attitude and demonstrates a strong willingness to learn.
