This position is designed for an experienced construction executive with direct solar EPC experience and a strong background in electrical infrastructure. The Director will scale internal capabilities, strengthen subcontractor partnerships, and implement process improvements that drive safety, efficiency, and profitability.
This is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Minnetonka, MN, with travel to project sites and customer locations nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead national construction operations, including scheduling, staffing plans, and resource forecasting
- Build and mentor high-performing in-house solar construction teams
- Oversee subcontractor relationships, ensuring alignment with cost, safety, and quality standards
- Drive project execution across multiple sites while maintaining strict budget and schedule controls
- Partner with project management leadership to monitor financial performance and capacity planning
- Establish and enhance QA/QC programs across all active solar construction projects
- Standardize and optimize workflows to support increased project volume and operational scalability
- Facilitate kickoff meetings, progress reviews, and final close-out processes
- Ensure compliance with permitting, licensing, interconnection, and inspection requirements
- Maintain clear communication with customers, executives, and internal teams regarding milestones and risks
- Lead hiring, coaching, performance development, and accountability initiatives
- Extensive construction leadership experience, with direct solar construction experience required
- Strong background in solar EPC delivery models and electrical infrastructure projects
- Demonstrated ability to build and scale construction teams in high-growth environments
- Knowledge of permitting processes, interconnection standards, and electrical code compliance
- Proven success managing multi-site construction portfolios with aggressive timelines
- Strong financial management skills, including cost forecasting and capacity planning
- Executive-level communication and stakeholder management abilities
- High-level problem-solving and decision-making skills in fast-paced environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related discipline
- Collaborative yet decisive leadership style
