Job Description
- The Operator I is responsible for the production of high-quality medical devices within a manufacturing cell. Working under close supervision, the individual may perform a combination of assembly, repair, and testing operations on medical devices such as pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related assemblies.
- The role involves performing routine assignments according to specified and standardized procedures, with work that is closely reviewed.
- Perform assembly, repair, and testing operations on medical device components.
- Follow standardized work instructions and manufacturing procedures.
- Ensure job documentation for cell operations is accurate and up to date.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records to ensure product traceability.
- Clearly communicate ideas, problems, and solutions to manufacturing management both verbally and in writing.
- Maintain a positive attitude when interacting with internal teams and visitors during facility tours.
- Follow all safety guidelines and use appropriate safety equipment during operations.
- Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives to enhance production efficiency and meet quality and profitability goals.
- Maintain accurate traveler and quality documentation to ensure all parts remain traceable.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Work with the Manufacturing Supervisor/Manager to set and monitor individual goals and cell performance metrics.
- Support divisional initiatives related to Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written procedures and verbal instructions.
- Basic understanding of electronic data collection systems and computer software.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments based on importance and sequence.
- Ability to handle and maneuver small components and parts.
- Ability to make sound decisions with minimal supervision.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
