This opportunity is with a small, stable manufacturing company that values accuracy, reliability, teamwork, and strong communication. The Production and Inventory Control Specialist plays a critical role in coordinating production planning, maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting purchasing activities, and ensuring materials are available to meet customer and operational demand.
This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, working across departments, managing priorities, and taking ownership of production and inventory activities from planning through completion.
JOB DETAILS :
Pay: $27.50/hour Contract-to-Hire opportunity
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm
Location:
100% onsite in Minnetonka, MNKEY RESPONSIBILITIES Create, maintain, and adjust production schedules based on demand, capacity, and material availability by reviewing inventory, ship dates, work orders, and sales reports.
Use production schedules to confirm sales orders for customers and the Sales team.
Issue, release, track, and close manufacturing work orders in Sage X3, ensuring accurate bills of material, allocations, and processing.
Monitor raw materials, work?in?process, and finished goods inventory to maintain optimal inventory levels and support production flow.
Conduct cycle counts and inventory audits, investigate variances, and implement corrective actions to maintain inventory accuracy.
Execute purchasing activities, including requisitions, purchase orders, supplier follow-up, price updates, and delivery tracking within Sage X3 and StockIQ.Coordinate with Sales and vendors to expedite purchase orders as needed.
Maintain accurate item master data, lead times, and planning parameters.
Identify shortages, coordinate expediting efforts, and communicate priorities to minimize production disruptions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
3+ years of experience in production scheduling, inventory control, and purchasing within a manufacturing environment required
Experience in Sage X3 or StockIQ preferred;
Experience in any similar software required
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and address issues before they arise.
Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and build strong vendor relationships.
