This position supports advanced dimensional inspection, reverse engineering, 3D scanning, and industrial CT scanning projects for customers across aerospace, medical device, defense, additive manufacturing, consumer products, and industrial manufacturing industries. Working alongside experienced metrology professionals, you will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge inspection and measurement technologies while developing skills that support long-term career growth in metrology, quality, engineering, and nondestructive testing.

This position involves access to export-controlled technical data, defense-related products, and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). 3D Scanning & Data Collection
- Operate advanced 3D scanning systems including laser, structured light, portable CMM arm, and computed tomography (CT) scanning.
- Capture high-accuracy geometric data from manufactured components, assemblies, tools, and prototypes.
- Prepare parts and scanning setups to optimize data quality and project efficiency.
- Process, align, and clean scan data to produce point clouds, meshes, inspection datasets, and engineering deliverables.
- Perform dimensional inspections using scan data, portable CMM arms, vision systems, optical measurement systems, and conventional measurement tools.
- Conduct CAD-to-part, part-to-part, and deviation analysis using metrology software.
- Generate inspection reports and communicate results clearly to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Support first article inspections (FAI), root cause investigations, product validation, and engineering studies.
- Assist with reverse engineering projects through scan-based geometry recreation and CAD model development.
- Support engineering teams by providing accurate digital representations of physical components.
- Collaborate with customers to understand technical requirements and recommend appropriate measurement solutions.
- Deliver projects accurately, professionally, and on schedule.
- Maintain strong communication with customers and coworkers throughout project execution.
- Contribute to a culture centered on service, integrity, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain equipment, work spaces, and laboratories in a clean, organized, and customer-ready condition.
Required
- Due to the nature of work performed and access to export-controlled technical data, candidates must qualify as a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (e.g., U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident/Green Card holder).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret basic GD&T concepts.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical curiosity.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in both laboratory and office environments.
- Ability to work at a computer workstation for extended periods.
- Ability to safely handle customer components and inspection equipment.
- Ability to work in laboratory, warehouse, and customer environments as required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, Manufacturing Technology, CAD Technology, or related field, or currently pursuing a related degree.
- Experience with 3D scanning, metrology, dimensional inspection, quality assurance, manufacturing, or CAD.
- Familiarity with GD&T and dimensional inspection principles.
- Experience with Poly Works, VGStudio MAX (Volume Graphics), Geomagic Suite, Solid Works, or similar engineering and metrology software.
- Experience operating portable CMM arms, laser scanners, structured light scanners, or other advanced measurement systems.
- Experience in aerospace, medical device, additive manufacturing, precision manufacturing, or related industries.
