Position: Executive Sous Chef at Dukes on 7

Duke's on 7, part of Craft & Crew Hospitality, is seeking a Full-Time Executive Sous Chef who is ready to step into senior kitchen leadership and grow into an Executive Chef role in the future.

This is a second-in-command position designed for an experienced Sous Chef (minimum 3 years as a Sous Chef) who is ready to elevate their impact. As Executive Sous Chef, you will play a critical role in leading daily operations, developing the BOH team, driving food quality and consistency, and supporting the financial performance of the restaurant.

WHAT YOU'LL DO AS EXECUTIVE SOUS CHEF

Every day brings leadership opportunities.

You will:

  • Act as second-in-command of the Duke's kitchen
  • Lead daily BOH operations to ensure consistency, efficiency, and profitability
  • Train, mentor, and develop kitchen leaders and line staff
  • Support recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and performance management
  • Manage food cost, labor cost, scheduling, and inventory
  • Maintain recipe standards, plating integrity, and food safety compliance
  • Assist in seasonal menu development and daily/weekly specials
  • Take full leadership responsibility in the Executive Chef's absence

This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced environment where accountability, communication, and teamwork matter.

WHAT MATTERS MOST
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef
  • 5+ years total restaurant experience
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills
  • Food costing and labor management expertise
  • Scheduling and inventory management experience
  • Serv Safe Certification
  • High standards for quality and execution
  • Desire to grow into an Executive Chef role
