Medica is seeking a hands‑on Senior AI Platform Engineer to help build and scale our next‑generation AI agents and infrastructure. You'll work on complex systems that power AI‑driven healthcare solutions for our members, providers and employees, that improve the healthcare experience end‑to‑end. This role is ideal for hands‑on builders who thrive on ownership, love solving technical and business problems, and are on the cutting edge of software.

Key Accountabilities
  • End‑To‑End AI Platform Development
    • Design, implement and deploy AI pipelines, systems and platforms – from evaluation design and benchmarking through product integration – ensuring performance, reliability and end‑to‑end safety and transparency.
  • Drive AI Native Use Cases
    • Prototype, build and operate cutting‑edge product and consumer‑facing AI systems, pushing state‑of‑the‑art to solve our core healthcare and technical challenges.
  • Technical Leadership
    • Contribute to technical decision‑making and architectural discussions for AI and data platforms. Elevate engineering standards and share best practices in code review and design discussions.
  • Continuous Learning
    • Stay up to date with the latest research and developments in AI. Evaluate new approaches or tools and drive their adoption when they can advance our capabilities. Evangelize to the organization accordingly.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field
  • 3+ years of AI work experience
  • 5+ years of software/platform engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven expertise in Java development and related technologies
  • Experience working in Agile development environments – SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework)
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
  • Experience with content management systems and enterprise search technologies
  • Proficiency in open‑source frameworks such as Angular, React, and Node.js
  • Experience developing web and mobile applications, including those built with Flutter
  • API development experience using Mule Soft or Java
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, including CI/CD and deployment processes
  • Healthcare industry experience is desired

This position is an office role, which requires an employee to work onsite at our Minnetonka, MN office, on average, 3 days per week.

Salary:
The full salary grade for this position is $113,400 – $194,400. The typical hiring salary range is $113,400 – $170,100, based on factors such as education, experience and market data. In addition to base compensation, this role may be eligible for incentive plan compensation.
