Job Description

The Senior Manager, Supply Chain Investigations proactively identifies cargo theft and major internal theft activities and trends. They develop strategies to reduce cargo theft impacting Macy’s and perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Do
  • Lead, manage, and coordinate investigations into cargo theft and significant internal theft incidents across the supply chain.
  • Utilize field surveillance tactics to develop and validate cargo theft investigations targeting individuals and establishments of interest.
  • Coordinate complex internal investigations with facility Asset Protection (AP) Leaders.
  • Lead internal investigations involving potential collusion with external actors.
  • Support internal investigations that implicate members of the Supply Chain AP team.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with local, state, federal, and railroad law enforcement agencies.
  • Collect, analyze, and monitor intelligence by networking with state and local cargo theft associations and leveraging online tools and resources.
  • Identify criminal trends and patterns to develop investigative leads.
  • Source local intelligence from criminal entities, law enforcement, retail, and supply‑chain contacts.
  • Identify and implement strategies to reduce criminal activity.
  • Lead supply‑chain asset protection efforts in response to emerging theft trends and loss data.
  • Oversee hiring, training, and development of the Supply Chain Central Investigations Analyst.
  • Prepare and communicate major investigation updates to senior leadership.
  • Testify in criminal, civil, or administrative proceedings on behalf of the company.
  • Provide guidance and follow‑up on court‑ordered restitution and pursue additional financial recovery, including merchandise recoveries and seizures.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and prosecuting attorney’s offices to guide investigations and present cases for prosecution.
  • Network with retail and supply‑chain counterparts to advance active investigations by expanding the loss impact.
  • Provide analytical and statistical cargo theft data to the Director and Senior Director to educate senior leadership and support legislative reform.
  • Educate and communicate criminal trends impacting Macy’s losses effectively.
  • Conduct training at supply‑chain facilities on cargo theft and significant internal theft trends, indicators, and solutions.
  • Maintain a communication network to facilitate the flow of investigative information regarding e‑commerce fencing of stolen goods.
  • Ensure regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.

  • Investigative Expertise: Skilled in conducting and managing complex investigations related to cargo and internal theft, including field surveillance and evidence validation.

  • Adaptability: Resourceful self‑starter who effectively navigates shifting priorities and works independently or within a team.
Who You Are
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
  • 3–5 years of direct experience in investigative or related roles.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel.
