Petroleum Engineering Specialist - Well Lifecycle Management (Well View SME)

Location: Minot, ND

Schedule: 9/80 Schedule (Every Other Friday Off)

Work Arrangement: Monday through Thursday in office;
Fridays optional office or remote work

Overview

A leading energy operator is seeking a Petroleum Engineering Specialist - Well Lifecycle Management to support engineering projects and daily well operations through the effective use of Well View, data management, reporting, and analytics tools. This role will serve as a key Well View subject matter expert (SME), supporting data quality initiatives, reporting enhancements, user training, and ongoing well lifecycle management activities.

The ideal candidate will have extensive Well View experience, strong analytical capabilities, and previous wells operations experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the asset-level Well View Subject Matter Expert (SME), supporting users and maintaining data quality standards.
  • Create, maintain, and enhance Well View reports, queries, libraries, and reporting solutions.
  • Support the migration and adoption of Well View Allez
    .
  • Perform job creation, data entry, and data maintenance activities within Well View.
  • Monitor data integrity, coding accuracy, and completeness through regular quality assessments.
  • Correct data inconsistencies and provide support when primary data-entry personnel are unavailable.
  • Develop and deliver Well View training materials and user training sessions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize reporting, processes, definitions, and data governance practices.
  • Create and maintain wellbore schematics and related technical documentation.
  • Develop and support performance reporting, dashboards, and analytics using Power BI
    .
  • Analyze operational and engineering data to support business decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Extensive experience with Well View required.
  • Experience with Well View 10, Well View Allez, or both strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience supporting well operations, drilling, completions, production, or related upstream activities.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including:
  • Excel
  • Power BI
  • Power Point
  • Outlook
  • Share Point
  • Complex formulas
  • Data visualization and charting
  • Experience performing data analysis and reporting using Well View and/or Power BI.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Well View administration and reporting initiatives.
  • Experience developing Power BI dashboards and operational performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of well lifecycle management processes and data governance practices.
  • Experience creating wellbore schematics and technical well documentation.
