Job DescriptionHours Per Day: 1.5 hours
- Before School CLC Aide
Under basic supervision, helps MPS students with homework and learning skills, and provides other needed assistance with Community Learning Center (CLC) activities and programs.
Essential Functions- Assists students with homework, educational activities, learning games, and physical activities in before and after school programs at the Community Learning Center (CLC); performs duties within scope of authority, and in compliance with MPS policies; job duties may vary according to assignment.
- Helps students to widen their range of knowledge in science, math, and language skills.
- Monitors students behavior, helps students with social skills, advises supervisor of complex issues.
- Supports the relationship between the Minot Public School District and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with clients, visitors, and District staff; maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, client records, and District information; follows compliance rules governing child abuse; performs related duties as required or assigned.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent; AND some experience working with children.
Knowledge of- MPS policies and procedures.
- Safety rules and regulations, occupational hazards, and safety precautions in public facilities.
- Dealing tactfully and courteously with students, using patience, understanding, and caring.
- Monitoring and improving student behavior and learning skills.
- Following verbal and written instructions and procedures.
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with co-workers.
- Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
A valid North Dakota State Driver’s License may be required; CPR and First Aid training is preferred.
Physical Demands and Working EnvironmentWork is performed in MPS Learning Center facilities.
This position is subject to veteran's preference.
Position Type: Part-Time
Salary: $14.88 to $14.88 Per Hour
