The Academic Instructor position provides support for a U.S Department of Labor Job Corps contractor. The Job Corps program is a federally funded residential training program. The mission of Job Corps is to provide career-based technical and academic training and job placement assistance to program eligible youth ages 16-24.
Summary of Duties:
We're looking for a Part-Time English Language (ELL) Instructor to support students who are learning English as a second language. In this role, you'll help students build confidence in reading, writing, speaking, and listening—while also preparing them for career and academic success.
Job Corps is a federally funded program that helps young people ages 16–24 gain the skills they need for employment, advanced training, or college. As an instructor, you'll play a key role in helping students grow academically and personally.
Academic Instructors Must:This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about teaching and enjoys working with diverse learners. You'll thrive in this position if you:

As an ELL Instructor, you'll create a supportive and engaging classroom environment while helping students develop essential language and life skills. Your responsibilities will include:
- Teaching English language skills including grammar, reading, writing, speaking, and pronunciation
- Creating lesson plans and instructional materials that meet diverse student needs
- Assessing student progress and adjusting instruction to support improvement
- Supporting students in preparing for tests, certifications, and next steps (employment, training, or college)
- Integrating real-world skills like communication, problem-solving, and teamwork into lessons
- Maintaining accurate records, including attendance, progress notes, and required documentation
- Collaborating with academic, career technical training, and support staff to ensure student success
- Providing guidance and encouragement to help students stay engaged and motivated
- Supporting students with accommodations and individualized learning plans when needed
- Creating a positive, structured, and safe learning environment
Credentials:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree required. Teacher Certification in the state of employment.
Certifications, Licenses, Registration
- Valid state driver's license;
Valid Teacher Certification, in state of employment
