Job Description

The Minot Public School District is seeking applicants for substitute teaching. A substitute employee is hired on a substitute basis as needed due to the absence of an employee. Substitutes may be called the day before or early on the day of the absence of the regular employee.

Salary: $150.00 per full day.

Steps to become a substitute teacher with MPS

Obtain a substitute/teaching license from the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction and complete an application with Minot Public School District for Substitute Teacher.

Receive an automated email with a request to reach out to Sarah Putt for employment forms.

Sarah Putt will email you a link to the employee records system to complete employment forms such as direct deposit, tax withholding, and emergency contact information.

Contact Sarah Putt after completing the forms. A 30‑minute virtual orientation will be scheduled.

After orientation, a final face‑to‑face meeting will take place with Sarah Putt to complete in‑person employment forms and take a photo for your badge.

Job Requirements

Current North Dakota Teaching Certificate issued by the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction.
Fingerprint card for background check.
