Job Title

Transportation Engineer I / II

Responsibilities

Manage small and medium construction projects.
Serve as lead inspector on large projects.
Ensure projects are built according to plans and specifications.
Design projects and prepare plan documents for district‑designed projects.
Fill in for project engineer in their absence.
Conduct preliminary surveys, bridge deck evaluations, construction surveying, and materials testing.

Minimum Qualifications

Transportation Engineer II:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related field plus two years of professional‑level engineering work experience; must pass or be able to pass the Fundamentals of Engineering exam within six months of employment.
Transportation Engineer I:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related field.

Class D driver’s license required for travel to scope bridge projects.
