Join Our Team as a Senior Engineering Technician!
Apex Engineering Group is excited to announce openings for Senior Engineering Technicians to enhance our dynamic team. This role is crucial in working on highway and urban roadway projects from initial design to final construction. As a Senior Engineering Technician, you will leverage your CADD expertise and serve as the Chief Inspector on construction projects. You will collaborate closely with project managers and senior team members while leading and mentoring junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Contribute to the creation of detailed project plans and designs through effective use of CADD software.
- Act as the Chief Inspector during construction, overseeing materials testing and inspections for concrete and asphalt operations.
- Assist with surveying tasks and support survey crews in the field.
- Train junior engineers and technicians, fostering their professional growth.
- Engage in regular communication with contractors and project managers to ensure project success and address any challenges that may arise.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a 2-Year Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or a Technical Degree in Drafting is highly preferred.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in civil engineering design and construction inspection is preferred.
- Proficient in CADD programs such as Bentley Open Roads Designer, Micro Station Connect, Autodesk AutoCAD, and Civil 3D, especially if working remotely.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Experience in materials testing with MnDOT certifications is a plus, or the willingness to obtain certifications swiftly.
- Understanding of MnDOT’s AASHTOWARE system for daily work reporting.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Ability to operate a computer in typical office conditions.
- Adaptability to work in varying weather conditions during site visits.
- Capability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
