Robotics Engineer

The Opportunity:

C ond uct the research, development, integration, deployment, and evaluation of robotic and unmanned systems across multiple operational domains and DoD war fighter mission areas. Function at the intersection of sof t war e and hard war e to design, build, test, and demonstrate new robotic capabilities that address complex client problems in sensing, autonomy, and human interaction. Apply advanced engineering skills, extensive technical expertise, and full industry knowledge .

Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction, and mentor and supervise team members.

You Have:5+ years of experience developing and debugging sof t war e and algorithms in C / C++ for Linux-based embedded systems, including driver development and integration of sensors, platforms, and interfaces2+ years of experience developing autonomy algorithms such as localization and path planning for navigation2+ years of experience leading robotic sof t war e development efforts, including requirements specification, design, implementation, integration, planning, tasking, testing, and code reviews1+ years of experience integrating Sensor Fusion and State Estimation algorithms, including Kalman filters, particle filters, SLAM, and VIOKnowledge of ROS2 to develop sof t war e for robotic applications

Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Bachelor’s degree in Sof t war e Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a Robotics field

Nice If You Have:3+ years of experience with computer vision such as OpenCV, camera models, and camera calibrations2+ years of experience working with UAS platforms and PX4-based flight controllers2+ years of experience working with sof t war e containerization met hods and utilities such as Docker and Docker-compose

Experience leading sof t war e development efforts following Dev Ops principles, including Agile, CI / CD, and test-driven development, and using automation tools, including pipelines and runners

Experience briefing DoD leaders and customers, and collecting requirements for defense missions

Experience with Universal Command and Control Interface ( UCI ) for UAS and Open Mission Systems ( OMS )Experience with QGround Control Secret  clearance

Master’s degree in Sof t war e Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a Robotics- related field preferred ;
Doctorate degree in Sof t war e Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a Robotics- related field a plusFAA Small UAS Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $ (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
