Position: OPERATIONS SUPPORT SPECIALIST at Air Force Global Strike Command Minot, ND

Overview

OPERATIONS SUPPORT SPECIALIST — Air Force Global Strike Command, Minot, ND.

Duties
  • Serve as the 5th Bomb Wing's Nuclear Command and Control (NC2) Emergency Actions Procedures (EAP) Manager and Aircrew Trainer.
  • Provide direct support, oversight, and assistance in instruction and organization of NC2, EAP operations and training for Minot AFB. This is designated as a Key Position (K-P).
  • Apply Air Force military ICBM, rated aviator and flying operations experience to analyze, develop, evaluate, and recommend solutions to improve nuclear operations and training.
  • Document training and programming recommendations to meet Air Force, Major Command, and Wing requirements.
  • Participate in strategic planning and training to improve organizational direction, focus, and quality control in nuclear operations and EA programs.
  • Prepare and deliver oral presentations, briefings, training sessions, and strategy discussions with other staff to secure cooperation and communicate proposed changes.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Selective Service registration for males where applicable.
  • Travel may be required; PCS may be paid in accordance with DoD/AF regulations.
  • PRP – Position is a Nuclear Weapons Duty designation; incumbent must be certified under the Nuclear Weapons Personnel Reliability Program (PRP).
  • Must be able to obtain and retain Top Secret Clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access; may require Counterintelligence polygraph and drug testing.
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) include: military operations planning, training evaluation, instructional design, data analysis, and ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Specialized experience:
    At least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11 (or equivalent) in military/nuclear operations, training, or related programs that demonstrates ability to evaluate and improve command training and operations.
  • Education:

    No formal education requirement specified for this vacancy.
  • Knowledge/

    Skills:

    Analytical ability, program management, and instruction/communication proficiency; ability to design and conduct analytical studies and implement recommendations affecting major command programs.
  • Security:
    Top Secret clearance with SCI access; willingness to submit to polygraph and drug testing as required.

  • Term/Appointment:
    This is a term position not-to-exceed two years, with possible extension without new competition.
  • Time-in-grade:
    For current federal employees, applicable TIG requirements apply.
