Nature of WorkThe City of Minot is accepting applications for the entry-level position of FIREFIGHTER. This is a full time, nonexempt civil service position. This is skilled fi er suppression and emergency response work involving responding to citizen calls for emergency assistance due to fires and other crisis situations; operates fire suppression equipment. Applicants must complete the written fire fighter exam, complete a job-related physical agility and fitness test, oral interviews, background investigation, and post-offer medical exam.

- Graduation from high school or GED
- The assigned salary range for Firefighter under the 2026 City of Minot Annual Pay Plan is Grade 58, with an annual salary range of $53,113 – $78,847 per year.
- This is a full time, FLSA non-exempt position.

Testing requirement
Firefighter testing will take place on Friday, September 25th, 2026beginning at 9:00 AM. Physical Agility Testing immediately follows written exam. First round interviews will occur on same day Friday, September 25th, 2026.
