MyStaff is recruiting for a Senior Accounting Manager to lead a growing accounting function for a well-established organization in Omaha, Nebraska. This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing accounting operations, guiding team performance, and partnering with leadership to improve processes, strengthen controls, and support long-term business growth. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with a strategic mindset and hands‑on accounting experience.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the accounting team, including workflow oversight, resource planning, and performance management
- Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and quality across accounting deliverables and reporting
- Collaborate with senior leadership to enhance operational processes and improve the client and internal experience
- Set team goals, provide training and coaching, and support long‑term department planning
- Address escalated issues with professionalism and a solutions‑focused approach
- Represent the organization at industry events, meetings, and networking opportunities
- Stay current on technology, processes, and industry standards and apply best practices to the team
- Support senior leadership with strategic initiatives and growth objectives
- Directly supervise a team of accounting professionals
- Interview, hire, train, and develop staff
- Assign and review work, provide feedback, and manage performance
- Handle employee relations matters in accordance with company policies and applicable laws
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
- Experience working in oil and gas required
- MBA preferred
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years leadership or supervisory experience
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
- Experience with accounting or financial data platforms and reporting tools
- Must be willing to relocate to Omaha, Nebraska for this role (This is NOT a remote role)
- Strong leadership and people‑management skills
