Overview
Position Summary The Cardiology Clinic RN provides professional nursing care and clinical support to patients receiving outpatient cardiovascular services. In this role, the RN coordinates patient care across the continuum, conducts comprehensive clinical assessments, assists with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and provides education regarding cardiac conditions, medications, and treatment plans. Working as part of a collaborative and patient-centered cardiovascular team, the Cardiology Clinic RN partners closely with providers and interdisciplinary team members to support high-quality care, effective communication, and positive patient experiences.
This position plays a vital role in promoting quality outcomes, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and effective disease management while contributing to a supportive clinical environment focused on delivering exceptional cardiovascular care. The role offers the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients and colleagues while helping ensure coordinated, efficient care throughout the outpatient setting.
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and triage patients presenting with cardiovascular conditions, symptoms, or concerns in the outpatient clinic setting.
- Coordinate patient care activities, including diagnostic testing, specialty referrals, medication management, and follow-up appointments to support continuity of care.
- Educate patients and families regarding cardiac diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, lifestyle modifications, and self-management strategies.
- Document clinical assessments, interventions, communications, and patient responses accurately within the electronic health record.
- Monitor patient status, review diagnostic results, and communicate significant findings to providers to facilitate timely clinical decision-making.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, ancillary staff, and external healthcare partners to support high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.
