Position Summary:
- Perform comprehensive assessments, administer ordered treatments, and support providers during pain management procedures and interventions.
- Prepare procedure rooms, maintain sterile fields, and assist with patient positioning, retraction, and procedural setup and cleanup.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, including those receiving sedation, and document vital signs and clinical responses accurately.
- Coordinate diagnostic testing, referrals, laboratory specimen handling, and follow-up communication to support continuity of care.
- Educate patients and families on procedure expectations, medication regimens, self-management strategies, and signs that require medical attention.
- Collaborate with providers, anesthesia teams, and clinic staff to address patient concerns, support care transitions, and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Required:
- Current or temporary RN license in ND or compact RN licensure.
- BLS certification required within orientation period.
- ACLS certification required within orientation period.
- Ongoing point of care certifications as required for department, required within orientation period.
- RN program as evidenced by licensure.
- One year or more of professional nursing experience, preferred.
- Clinic experience, preferred.
- May include travel to satellite clinics.
- Computer and keyboard skills.
- Special additional requirements:
- Take call as required for department needs.
- Assist with set up and cleanup of OR.
- Assist with positioning of patient.
- Assist with retraction and limb holding.
- Assist with efficient operation of the call cases.
- Practice sterile technique for gowning, gloving and throughout the case.
- Trinity community clinics draw and package lab tests.
- Additional special skills required for specific departments.
The RN Clinic, Pain frequently stands, walks, and moves between exam rooms and procedural areas while assisting with interventions and patient care. The role involves bending, reaching, and lifting or carrying supplies, equipment, and procedural instruments, as well as assisting with patient positioning and mobility. Adequate vision, hearing, and manual dexterity are essential for maintaining sterile technique, monitoring patient status, and performing detailed clinical tasks.
EnvironmentalRequirements:
Work occurs in an outpatient pain management clinic and procedural environment with exposure to patients experiencing various pain conditions and mobility limitations. The role may involve contact with blood and body fluids, sharp instruments, and disinfectant chemicals, requiring strict adherence to PPE, infection‑control practices, and sterile procedures. The environment can vary in pace based on procedure schedules and patient needs, requiring flexibility, attention to safety, and compliance with confidentiality and regulatory standards.
