The HSE Technician is responsible for supporting and maintaining a safe and compliant work environment by identifying workplace hazards, implementing safety programs, providing employee training, investigating incidents, and ensuring compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations. The HSE Technician works closely with employees, supervisors, and other departments to promote a strong safety culture and continuously improve workplace safety performance.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular worksite safety inspections to identify, assess, and document potential hazards and unsafe conditions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety plans, procedures, and programs designed to prevent workplace accidents, injuries, and illnesses.
- Conduct safety training and educational sessions for employees on workplace safety procedures, policies, protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, near misses, and injuries to determine root causes and develop recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate records of workplace safety incidents, inspections, training, and corrective actions.
- Track the progress and completion of corrective and preventive actions to ensure identified hazards are properly addressed.
- Collaborate with supervisors, managers, employees, and other departments to ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations, standards, and company policies.
- Assist with the development and continuous improvement of HSE policies, procedures, and programs.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial hygiene, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in an HSE or related role preferred.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Ability to conduct safety inspections, investigations, and employee training effectively.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and preparing safety reports.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with employees and management.
