• Communicate with leadership regarding encounters and investigations
• Maintain a professional relationship with local authorities and law enforcement agencies
• Collaborate with law enforcement and other local retailers to identify organized retail crime threats
• Assist leadership with cash handling and transfers
• Observe customers and associates for potential acts of theft or fraud
• Take appropriate action to prevent theft and apprehend individuals when prevention is not effective
• Conduct surveillance and apprehend external theft suspects in compliance with company standards
• Monitor video via CCTV and conduct on‑site interviews
• Maintain all apprehension and investigation records according to company standards
• Develop and maintain knowledge and use of CCTV surveillance equipment
• Assist in monitoring store compliance with company policies related to theft deterrence, safety, and operational controls
• Maintain a high visible deterrent to crime and positively influence the security incident rate and inventory controls

• Help mitigate security risks to provide a safer environment for employees and customers
• Welcome all customers, visitors, and vendors professionally and assist them in locating staff within the stores
• Issue electric handicapped shopping carts to customers and assist in obtaining wheelchairs and shopping carts
• Examine and properly tag property being brought into the store, including personal property, equipment, and firearms
• Watch facilities and parking areas on foot, directing traffic during special events or heavy customer traffic, and enforcing parking regulations
• Make regularly scheduled floor and exterior walks to ensure safety of customers and facility
• Complete monthly reports on safe or unsafe practices found on the sales floor or backstocks

• Help customers and staff with vehicle break‑downs and lock‑outs and retrieve shopping carts from parking areas
• React as necessary and assist in handling shoplifting, medical emergencies, and inclement weather situations
• Work assigned schedules that may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Genuinely and consistently treat co‑workers, customers, and business partners as the most important person, using eye contact, a smile, and a genuine "Thank you"

• Approach daily tasks, projects, and follow‑up communication with energy and a sense of urgency

• High School Diploma/GED;
  College graduate preferred
• Proven track record of strong communication and organization skills
• Preference for candidates with prior loss prevention experience (2‑3 years)
• Currently certified or willing to become certified in CPR and OC (Oleoresin Capsicum, pepper spray) foam deployment
