The Reconstruction Estimator is responsible for managing a wide range of functions necessary to successfully obtain, bid, and price construction projects. They are responsible for ensuring an accurate scope of work is created, delivering a consistent and complete estimate, and maintaining a high quality of service in all dealings with customers, clients, Adjusters, Consultants, and resource providers involved in construction services.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Customer Satisfaction
  • Educate customers on the construction process.
  • Work with customers to understand desired upgrades/changes.
  • Ensure that estimates meet customer and insurance requirements.
  • Prepare the file to go into production.
  • Project Initiation
  • Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for a project.
  • Create an accurate sketch and initial scope of work for construction projects.
  • Deliver a consistent and well-defined initial estimate.
  • Recognize project constraints and/or needed upgrades.
  • Work with Project Managers to price bid items, supplements, and change orders if needed.
  • Project Planning
  • Identify and document finalized project scope of work.
  • Work with outside resources as necessary to support work cycle (e.g., Structural Engineers, ITEL, Electrical Inspectors).
  • Assemble accurate and well-organized estimates, supplements, and change orders.
  • Deliver and communicate estimate to the adjuster assigned to the claim.
  • Provide the contract to the insured for execution once the adjuster approves the submitted estimate.
  • Ensure all executed documents are collected so the project can enter the production cycle.
  • Assist with any supplements needed during the production cycle.
  • Additional Support
  • Support the estimating department by helping write mitigation estimates, as needed.
  • Provide peer reviews for other estimators in mitigation and construction capacity.
  • Help with monthly training on industry knowledge to educate the team and foster teamwork.
  • Assist in first response during inundation periods within the company.

    Walking and/or standing throughout the day, frequent driving, sitting, and occasional ladder climbing. Exposure to extreme conditions such as heat. Loud noise levels at individual jobsites.
