Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist II Acute

Mint Hill Medical Center (Novant Health)

Schedule: 36 hours/week – Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 7:00 am – 7:30 pm with occasional holiday call. Regular call coverage 1 day per week and rotating weekends with other staff.

Sign‑on Bonus: $15,000.

The MRI Technologist II Acute will assist physicians in the performance of diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and safely operating the MR equipment to obtain diagnostic scans in the acute setting. The acute technologist is responsible for inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, and operating room procedures.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • ARRT certification (R)(MR) or (MR) – registered within 6 months of hire.
  • Prior acute care experience (preferred).
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; graduate of ARRT‑approved Radiography Program or MR Program required;
    Associate Degree preferred.
  • Minimum one year of experience in MR (preferred).
  • NH Medical Center‑Certified and ARRT‑registered MR (RT(R)(MR) or RT(MR)) within 6 months of hire; life‑support training per NH‑HR‑3096 required; applicable state license required.
  • Thorough knowledge of MRI imaging equipment; analytical ability; basic computer skills; ability to interpret information and identify each patient’s care requirements relative to age‑specific needs; good communication skills.
