Overview


The Staff Software Engineer – Service Now develops, configures, integrates, tests, and supports moderately complex Service Now solutions with system-wide impact. This role translates business and technical requirements into scalable platform solutions, reviews technical designs, supports integrations and platform stability, and provides technical guidance while working within established architectural standards and platform guardrails.

Primary Responsibilities


• Translate business and technical requirements into Service Now configurations, workflows, integrations, user stories, and technical designs.
• Design, develop, configure, test, and support Service Now platform solutions aligned with enterprise architecture, development standards, and platform guardrails.
• Integrate Service Now with internal and external applications, APIs, and enterprise platforms.
• Review technical design specifications, code, configurations, and workflows to ensure quality, scalability, maintainability, security, and adherence to standards.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Maintain platform stability across development, testing, and production environments.
• Participate in Agile, Dev Ops, CI/CD, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement activities.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and knowledge sharing to engineers, administrators, and junior team members.
• Identify opportunities to enhance Service Now capabilities and optimize business processes.

Minimum Qualifications


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, Service Now development, or related technical role.
• Hands-on experience developing, configuring, integrating, and supporting Service Now solutions.
• Experience with ITSM, HRSD, App Engine, ITOM, IRM, Sec Ops, or similar modules.
• Experience with JavaScript, APIs, integrations, workflow automation, and SDLC practices.
• Experience working in Agile and Dev Ops environments.

Preferred Qualifications


• Service Now CSA, CAD, or related certifications.
• Experience with Flow Designer, Integration Hub, CMDB, and CSDM.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Experience mentoring technical team members.
