Position: Parks Site Lead (Seasonal)

Job Description

Do you have a passion for creating memorable visitor experiences in a beautiful natural setting? Are you a hands‑on leader who can balance operations, maintenance, and environmental stewardship? We’re looking for a talented Parks Manager for the season to lead our Maintenance & Facilities team and ensure our park remains safe, engaging, and impeccably maintained. This role reports to the Facilities & Property Manager and leads a team of up to six direct reports (Interpretive Guides and Maintenance staff).

Responsibilities
  • Lead park operations – Oversee daily activities to uphold safety, quality, and environmental compliance across all functions.
  • Develop and support people – Lead, train, schedule, and coach staff (interpretive and maintenance) to build a high‑performance culture.
  • Deliver visitor programs – Plan and manage educational programs, events, and engagement activities that elevate the guest experience.
  • Direct maintenance & infrastructure – Ensure trails, buildings, playgrounds, picnic areas, roadways, and natural features are inspected and well maintained.
  • Plan strategically & manage budgets – Implement park strategies, conservation initiatives, reporting, and budget/operational planning for sustainable outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Education – Post‑secondary training in Forestry, Environmental Management, Biology, Parks & Recreation, or another natural‑resource field, with a preference for candidates who hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience – Hands‑on experience working outdoors and performing physically demanding tasks, with additional value placed on leadership or team‑management experience within parks, recreation, conservation, or similar environments.
  • Certifications – Valid Class 5 driver’s license, and ideally also bring certifications such as First Aid/CPR, WHMIS, or other environment‑ or recreation‑related qualifications.
  • Knowledge & Skills – Strong leadership and coaching abilities, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of local ecology, operational planning, and problem‑solving in dynamic outdoor settings; flexible scheduling and bilingualism (English/French) are assets.
