The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the organization’s accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting processes, and compliance requirements. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial information while providing strategic financial insights to support business decision-making. The Financial Controller manages accounting teams, improves financial processes, and maintains strong financial governance across the organization.
Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Accounting Operations- Oversee all accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial close processes.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial results to executive leadership and stakeholders.
- Manage month-end and year-end close procedures.
- Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
- Partner with department leaders to develop financial plans and monitor performance against budgets.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic business decisions.
- Develop financial models and reporting tools to improve visibility into business performance.
- Establish, maintain, and enhance internal financial controls and accounting policies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Coordinate external audits and serve as the primary contact for auditors.
- Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Manage, mentor, and develop accounting and finance team members.
- Improve accounting processes, systems, and workflows to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Support implementation and optimization of financial systems and reporting tools.
- Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance.
- Provide recommendations regarding cash management and operational improvements.
- Review financial controls related to expenditures, investments, and business operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field with at least 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience. Experience in managing financial reporting, budgeting and accounting operations with strong knowledge of GAAP. Candidates, must have:
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.
