Position: IIEP Coordinator for Exceptional Education Division

Position: IIEP Coordinator for Exceptional Education Division

Work Group:
Auxiliary – Level III (6-8 hours as needed)

Reports To:

Director of Exceptional Education

Evaluation: 90 days and then every other year

Work Schedule:

201 days / 10 days before teachers first day and 8 days after the last half day for teachers

Minimum Qualifications
  • Basic skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and database.
  • Demonstrate well-developed communication skills both verbal and written, necessary to interact in a professional manner to project a positive image that is consistent with P-H-M’s philosophy.
  • Willingness to improve and/or develop job-related skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and give exceptional attention to detail.
  • Expertise in organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Confidential, trustworthy, analytical, self-motivated, attentive to details, and able to work flexible hours.
  • Excellent work habits, attendance record and successfully complete and pass all criminal history and child abuse clearances.
  • Shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the Corporation.
  • Follow other directives from the Director of Exceptional Education and the Superintendent that serve to improve services to the students and patrons of the Penn-Harris-Madison School Corporation.
  • Performance Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director of Exceptional Education and Administrative offices in review and maintenance of Individual Educational Program paperwork. (ACRs, Move-Ins, Addendums, etc.)
  • Acquire and maintain Indiana IEP Program skills and provide training to new and existing staff.
  • Email telephone and stay in consistent contact with all P-H-M Exceptional Education staff members in regards to required paperwork.
  • Compile, update, organize, and maintain records.
  • Coordinate clerical work related to leave requests.
  • Maintain records as requested
  • Provide clerical support (typing, filing, scheduling, and telephone) to the Director of Exceptional Education and administrative offices as requested.
  • Assist the Director of Exceptional Education in all tasks as requested.
  • Physical Ability
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
    Sensory Requirements

    Most tasks require visual perception and discrimination. All tasks require oral communications ability.

    Environmental Factors
    • Tasks are regularly performed without potential exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as temperature and noise extremes, odors, humidity, vibrations, traffic hazards, violence, disease, or pathogenic substances.
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however the noise level can vary depending upon daily activity, but will still remain within the acceptable noise level range
    Mental Effort

    Normal Concentration/intensity, which includes prolonged mental effort with limited opportunity for breaks.

    When duties and responsibilities change and develop the job description will be reviewed and subject to changes of business necessity.
