Direct Hire-Process Engineer to evaluate friction welding applications, develop processes, and optimize component designs.

Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Welding Engineering, or Materials required
- 2-3 years experience in friction welding or solid-state joining processes
- 2-3 years experience in process definition, development, and improvement
- Direct experience in material joining and material properties preferred
- Knowledge of DFM (design for manufacture) and DOE (design of experiments) methodology
- Technical Writing & Evaluate potential applications for friction welding
- Research and develop new processes
- Determine weld parameters and machine settings based on materials and geometry
- Prepare metallurgical samples and assess metallurgy
- Recommend component redesigns to optimize welding design
- Determine material and equipment requirements for jobs
- Prepare proposals and quotations for feasibility studies and production welding
- Serve as technical contact for all weld development efforts
- Evaluate quality and modify process parameters as needed
- Prepare technical documentation for new programs or product launches
