Principal duties and responsibilities include establishing and maintaining production standards, line balances and manning requirements for all phases of vehicle assembly, establishing material flow, equipment, and material station lay-outs, establishing labor and material requirements for engineering changes, making vs. buy studies, interfacing and negotiating with government on engineering changes impacting manufacturing, monitoring and controlling production line speed, participating in using and implementation of Lean Six Sigma and ISO Standard tools within the assembly process flow, and providing strong leadership and support to the team.
Knowledge and skills required include a degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, 3-5 years' experience in an automotive assembly or heavy equipment plant, 3-5 years' experience establishing plant layouts and cost proposals, thorough knowledge of MS Office software, Auto-CAD, UG and Vis-Mock Up, experience using SharePoint, Team Center and SAP, ability to take charge of programs through interfacing with departments and vendors, strong written and verbal skills, high level of initiative, organizational skills, and ability to work independently or in a team environment as required, ability to problem solve, possess strong customer service skills and be able to multi-task, and ability to perform time studies and be familiar with line balancing and arranging workstations for assembly line work.
Physical effort includes sight, hearing, hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, agility, climbing/kneeling, lifting, physical strength, and stamina.
Working conditions include operating between an office and manufacturing plant environment, teamwork, listening skills, ability to follow instructions, methodical approach, and concentration.
Travel requirements include moderate travel.
