Location: Hybrid – Midwest (South Bend / Elkhart Area)
Position Summar
Your client is seeking a Tax Manager to join its corporate tax team and support the company’s domestic and international tax operations. This role will be responsible for leading income tax provision activities under ASC 740, supporting federal and state income tax compliance, managing tax audits, and partnering with finance and business leaders across the organization.
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of public accounting and/or large corporate tax experience, with strong technical tax accounting knowledge and a proven ability to operate in a fast‑paced, publicly traded environment.
.Key Responsibilitie- Manage quarterly and annual income tax provisions under ASC 740, including current and deferred tax calculations, effective tax rate analysis, and tax account reconciliations
- Prepare and review supporting schedules related to income tax reporting and financial statement disclosures
- Coordinate federal, state, and local income tax compliance processes with internal stakeholders and external advisors
- Assist with tax planning initiatives, business transactions, and tax‑efficient structuring opportunities
- Support domestic and international tax matters, including intercompany transactions and foreign reporting requirements
- Manage tax audits and respond to inquiries from federal, state, and local taxing authorities
- Research and analyze the impact of new tax legislation and accounting guidance
- Partner with accounting, FP&A, treasury, and operational leadership teams on tax‑related projects and initiatives
- Identify process improvements and opportunities to enhance efficiency within the tax function
- Mentor and develop junior tax professionals while helping drive departmental objectives
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- CPA required or strongly preferred
- 6–10+ years of progressive corporate tax experience
- Public accounting experience (Big 4 or large regional firm) preferred
- Strong ASC 740 income tax provision experience required
- Experience with federal and multi‑state income tax compliance
- Experience supporting publicly traded companies preferred
- Strong Excel and tax technology skills
- Excellent communication, analytical, and project management abilities
- Combination of public accounting and industry experience
- Experience with in manufacturing, industrial, consumer products, distribution, or other complex operating environments
- Exposure to multinational tax matters and complex legal entity structures
- Experience working within a large corporate tax department
