Position SummaryAs a School Health Nurse
, you’ll play a vital role in supporting student well-being and academic success by identifying and addressing health-related barriers to learning. You will assess student health, develop and implement individualized care plans, promote wellness, and act as a liaison between families, schools, and the healthcare system.
- Provide health assessments, develop health plans, and manage chronic conditions
- Participate in IEP development as the health team specialist
- Offer crisis intervention for illness, injury, and emotional concerns
- Monitor and help control communicable diseases
- Educate students and staff on wellness and healthy habits
- Serve as a community resource and promote health careers
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN preferred)
- Valid RN license in Indiana
- 3+ years of nursing experience preferred, ideally in a school setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
