About the Job:
The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager in leading a customer-focused, top-line sales driven, profitable and productive store location. They inspire and motivate others by exhibiting core value behaviors, including a customer-focused selling culture, and ensuring the execution of the store's KPIs. Assistant Managers also hold store employees accountable to following all policies and procedures.
A Day in the Life – What You’ll Be Doing:- Display a customer-focused mindset at all times and ensure all team members deliver an engaging, positive and authentic customer experience.
- Handle customer situations in compliance with policy and procedures, attempt to “solve for yes” and escalates issues as appropriate.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized store, promoting a safe working and shopping environment to maximize the customer experience.
- Share feedback from customers with the leadership team to improve the overall customer experience.
- Perform as the floor supervisor role as needed to cover non-peak periods (breaks etc.).
- Hold self and others responsible for the accomplishment of all operational tasks.
- Coach and provide feedback on Sales Associate performance.
- Support associate engagement by recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance.
- Provide direction to associates to ensure understanding of company directives and standards.
- Prioritize and delegate tasks to meet all operational needs.
- Support and execute visual directives and maintain visual standards set by the company.
- Drive efficiency in all operational store processes.
- Maintain merchandise flow, filling and presentation standards throughout the store and stockroom.
- Ensure all store associates follow all policies, procedures and all Safety Program practices.
- Reflect the Pac Sun brand by demonstrating passion and affinity for product, brands, fashion and trends.
- Inspire and motivate others by consistently exhibiting core value behaviors.
- Demonstrate willingness, aptitude, and initiative to learn what is unknown about product, brands, fashion and trends.
- Passion for product, brands, fashion and trends.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Effective written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Proficiency in math and strong computer skills.
- Operate with the highest level of conduct, integrity, and confidentiality; setting the example for leaders and associates.
- Develop and nurture strong cross-functional partnerships; drive business results and inspire a culture of transparency, collaboration, and accountability.
- Serve as a Pac Sun advocate in the industry and marketplace.
- Recruit, identify, develop, and retain talent that delivers performance excellence.
- Serve as a manager of company culture, norms, and conduct.
- Balance a strong management presence with a high level of approachability, encouraging and eliciting associate feedback and interaction.
- The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
- The associate must frequently sit/stand for long periods of time and climb ladders as needed.
- While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear; the associate is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, as well as reach, twist or squat.
- Ability to maneuver around sales floor, stockroom and office areas.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to work in open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting.
- Hotel, airplane, and car travel may be required for SM and above roles only.
This is a full-time position. Ability to work 32-40 hours a week is required. As a national retailer, flexibility with work schedule (able to work weekends, nights, and peak holiday periods) is required.
