Your RoleUnder the direct supervision of the Director, Health and Wellness, the Wellness Assistant is responsible for providing administrative services to the department, ensure reports and administrative work in relation to medical transport.

Duties and Responsibilities:- Maintaining the proper flow of all written and verbal information coming in to and going out of the Health and Wellness Department;
- Providing direct secretarial services to the Director and may assist other programs in the department, as provided by the director;
- Coordinating and submitting time sheets, payment of travel, honorarium and other claims;
- Assisting in scheduling when needed;
- Recording, transcribing and distributing all staff meeting team minutes;
- Assisting in scheduling and coordination of various other meetings, workshops, and events as required;
- Assisting in or scheduling and coordinating appointments and travel arrangements as required.
- Maintaining a schedule of staff appointments, meetings, holidays, special leaves, absences and other major events, on or at least a quarterly basis;
- Organizing documents, materials, booking rooms and providing for refreshments for meetings as required;
- Liaising with all departments as required, on matters of regarding shared budget expenditures, claims, submission of bills, purchase orders and cheques.
- Preparing, typing and/or proofreading draft or final correspondence, memorandum, reports, proposals, policies, ext.
- Maintaining current lists of reference materials, including the C/TFN phone list, C/TFN members appointed to boards and committees, and addresses of an information pertaining to other public and private sector agencies.
- Coordinating all in-coming and out-going department checks;
- Monitor and documenting phone requests to the Director and other staff as required;
- Maintaining client statistics, department office, workshop food inventories and other information as requested.
- Responsible for providing the correct documentation to the administrative assistant
- Responsible for recording and maintaining an updated travel log to be turned in bi-weekly
- Responsible for getting to and from work on time.

- Relevant education with business or secretarial courses;
- A combination of education and work experience;
- Three years experience in customer service roles
- In-depth knowledge of Carcross/Tagish First Nation traditions and heritage; history, culture, demographics, goals and aspirations;
- Excellent organizational skills or
- A combination of work experience and education
- Strong interpersonal skills
